What is measured

Carbon-negative power. Carbon-neutral by feedstock.

SAS brings dependable, dispatchable power and clear carbon attributes to near-load demand. At minimum, SAS is a carbon-negative power provider. Depending on feedstock, some projects are carbon-neutral.

Evidence

Measured project by project.

Resource and conversion choices shape each project's carbon profile. SAS evaluates feedstock, conversion and biochar pathways and uses lifecycle accounting to make those attributes clear, in four areas.

Where the carbon goes Forest residue goes into the conversion building and splits in two: syngas goes on to generate power, and biochar goes into the ground, where it stays stored in the soil. Forest residueConversionSyngas to powerBiochar stored in soil

  • Feedstock

Traceable source, counterfactual baseline, transport and chain of custody.

  • Conversion

Conversion performance, auxiliary loads, and full process and operating emissions.

  • Biochar

Quality, stability, end use and carbon storage evidence.

  • Lifecycle

Lifecycle methodology and assessment, monitoring and independent verification.
